Who to start when both fit?

Re: Antonio or Moses?
You cannot drop Antonio because of his impressive form over the last few games.

Antonio is also as honest as the day is long. I like that.

What is encouraging about Moses is that this is a player than can clearly become better, also he is hungry and wants to make a name for himself, which can't be a bad thing either.

I rate Moses, but I'd happily aim him back to those plastic cunts tomorrow.

It is. As a right back having Antonio in front of you must be a dream. The bloke tracks back all day, doesn't get muscled off and doesn't get beat for pace. You simply know that he is going to make your day a whole lot easier.

His goal against Liverpool shows what he is all about. Makes a tackle on our bye-line and then 10 seconds later scores a header close to their six yard box. Phenomenal.

Antonio to play for West Ham

Moses to lead me across the Red Sea

Re: Antonio or Moses?
my forest STH mate said he's all about pace and power and he didn't think this would be enough in the prem, lets hope he continues to prove my mate wrong

for what price moses would cost does he really provide enough goals and assists?

Re: Antonio or Moses?
Moses has more pace and can stretch teams better than Antonio, but I think Antonio makes better decisions on and off the ball

I'd have said exactly the opposite

Re: Antonio or Moses?
To be honest, outside of WHU I don't think there's a single supporter who would take Antonio over Moses in 'normal' circumstances. I personally think Moses is a very good player.

But in our current situation, 1 plays for us and 1 plays for Chelsea. I would much rather we worked on developing a player that will be with us next season.

Re: Antonio or Moses?
A mate of mine supports Middlesbrough and loves football in general. He has a great knowledge of the Championship and was gutted when we signed Antonio as he said he was brilliant.

It's taken a while, which is to be expected, but maybe we're starting to see the best of him? His work rate and attitude is fantastic and his ability is there for all to see. In a strange way, the injuries we've had that have seen Antonio get a run in the team, could be a blessing?

Re: Antonio or Moses?
interesting that they're both 25 years of age
I hope Antonio continues this form, if so I don't see moses signing perm ? I know we need a squad of course but doesn't Tore play right wing too?

Re: Antonio or Moses?
Moses has more pace and can stretch teams better than Antonio, but I think Antonio makes better decisions on and off the ball. Antonio also has a better engine. I would start Antonio with Moses to come on as a sub. Moses' end product is a bit frustrating as well.

Re: Antonio or Moses?
I know mate you're also right football is fickle on another level
its all about confidence, technically moses definitely has the edge but it seems Antonio pace and power could be just as affective

Pagey 5:17 Mon Jan 4
Re: Antonio or Moses?
Not aimed at you Frank, just generally.

Football is fickle and Antonio was getting hammered on this board before Christmas. Just shows what a bit of confidence (and a freak goal against Southampton) can do!

Re: Antonio or Moses?
not forgetting pagey
just think his defensive work needs to improve and he doesn't score enough or set up enough goals imo...
you're quite right though nice problem to have

Re: Antonio or Moses?
People seem to quickly forget the quality that Moses showed earlier in the season. It's great to have both in the squad.

Re: Antonio or Moses?
I think the people referring to the fact moses isn't as good defensively is key tbh
we were leaking more goals and credit to Antonio he's made a huge difference along with tonks down the right hand side

Antonio blocked cross into the 2nd half sat was a very key moment imo

Re: Antonio or Moses?
Antonio's hard work, graft and desire have been absolutely instrumental in getting us points during our injury ravaged weeks.

Yes, he isn't cultured and probably doesn't know what he intends to do half the time but he is honest. And he does all the tracking back and chasing required.

For me, he has earnt the start and it is now going to be up to him to continue in the same way. If he doesn't then replace him with Moses.

claretandbluedagger 4:38 Mon Jan 4
Re: Antonio or Moses?
Antonio, no question. Runs for you all day, seems to have a great sense of being in the right place at the right time, and actually helps the defender. Moses hardly ever tracked back leaving Jenkinson exposed time and time again.

Plus why should we improve a player for Chelsea when we almost certainly won't sign him whilst we have a more than capable replacement permanently on the books?
